High Speed Steel (HSS) taps. This 3mm X .50 Metric tap is a common tap size.
This is the most common size metric violin bow eyelet tap. Almost all modern metric size eyelets in the trade utilize this thread.
These are of High Speed Steel (HSS) not carbon steel. Brass and bronze eyelets need HSS for a good clean threading.
