Carving Knives for Bow Making
Warther Knives are made in Dover, Ohio of materials made in the USA.
The steel is Magnacut® - Made by Crucible Steel Company in Syracuse New York specifically for knives. This is considered by most knife and carving professionals as being the very best of the cutlery steels.
The steel is tempered to 58-60 on the Rockwell c scale. The handles are laminated birch, layered with epoxy resins.
We offer several styles that are the best for bow making. Knives are about 6.5 inches in overall length and the blade area is about 2 inches in length.

Violin Bow Carving Knife/ Arch Blade Style # 6 Style
Warther Carving Knife # 6 is designed with a curved blade where the sharp blade itself is on the outside arc-curve. This is as seen on the lower arc in the photo.
A favorite for the inside sharp curve areas at the front and back of the bow.

Warther Carving Knife # 8 is designed with a battleaxe blade like you would see on a medieval battleaxe, only smaller of course.
Ideal for reaching into difficult areas and for sculpting with this type of fine blade. This is an incredibly handy little blade. This is a very unique style of blade not seen elsewhere or by any other maker.
