Metric Size Violin & Cello Brass and Bronze Eyelets.
When reading the descriptions in our product offerings the shank diameter refers to the size of the stem of brass or bronze that one fits into the frog body. These shanks are finely threaded and are 3 mm for the standard and 3.5 mm for the heavy duty. When an eyelet is not fitting tight in the frog body from years of use (wood threads are stripped) then folks usually upgrade the eyelet to the 3.5 mm stem for added grip.
The thread refers to the thread in the hole that the screw goes into.
